Found an eyeshadow palette you love? Worried about how long they will last? Well, never fear. We’ve answered some of your most popular questions below.
HOW LONG DO EYESHADOW PALETTES LAST?
The average length of time that an eyeshadow palette can be used before it needs replacing is roughly two years (depending on use cases). It is actually possible to extend the life span of your eyeshadow palette by gently spraying eye pot in the palette with rubbing alcohol a few times a month which kills any residual bacteria on the surface.
DO EYESHADOWS EXPIRE?
Yes, just like many other types of makeup, eyeshadow can expire. Over time, the repeated use of an eyeshadow palette will cause bacteria to be transferred to the pot. This bacteria can build up and cause eye infections and irritable skin. When it no longer behaves the way it should during application, it’s time to change.
HOW TO CHOOSE EYESHADOW COLOUR COMBINATIONS?
Many palettes are actually arranged in columns of colour combinations that are known to work well, but some of these combinations are only suitable for certain types of skin.
When you are experimenting with your look, not only is the tone of skin important, but also the colour of the eyes and the shape of the face. The more colour combinations you try, the more you will learn about what works, and what doesn’t – and don’t forget that you also have the ability to swap out your subtle mattes for glossy metallics to really make you stand out.
